Groups Day One : Perry stuns Sherbini – again
The first of Four days of Group Matches started with a comfortable 2-0 win for women’s top seed Raneem El Welily, ended after midnight with a hard fought 2-0 win for men’s top seed Ali Farag, and in between witnessed tough wins for Mohamed ElShorbagy, Camille Serme and Tarek Momen – ElShorbagy and Serme both saving match balls – and one massive seeding upset as Sara-Jane Perry repeated her British Open win over Nour El Sherbini.
